Ben James is a Director at AB Digital, where he specialises in responsive web design, logos and company branding, graphic design, and urbex photography.

Ben has over 18 years of experience in the digital sector, 15 of which were for pioneering trading software company Fidessa, based in the City of London, as Web Services Manager in Global Marketing Communications.

Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, Ben was responsible for managing Fidessa’s digital presence to the outside world as well as writing, running and maintaining the previous Intranet, and contributed to help build the SharePoint Intranet, which replaced it.

His employment at Fidessa took him to Belfast, Boston, New York, Toronto, Hong Kong and Japan to host employee Intranet workshops, working on projects such as designing GUI front-end web applications with development teams.

Ben has also worked freelance since 2000 for a wide range creative projects across a spectrum of job sectors, from finance and crane hire, to event fliers and street photography.

He has excellent written and verbal communication skills and is experienced with strategically managing a team on large scale global digital projects, working at Director-level throughout his previous position.

Ben’s expertise lies not only in web design, but also in app creation, social media branding and marketing, graphic print design, and creative writing. He is fluent in all aspects of Adobe Creative Cloud.

Ben comes from an Accounting and Journalism background. In 2015, he founded the popular Facebook community ‘Strictly Underground Music’ – or S.U.M - and using his design skills to create the unique branded graphics, has helped push the group to over 7000 members.
